Powered by a quad-core Intel Celeron J4125 processor running at 2.0 GHz to 2.7 GHz in Burst mode, the DS225+ provides a stable foundation for everyday tasks, multimedia and productivity. With 2 GB of soldered DDR4 RAM, expandable via a SODIMM slot up to 6 GB, it meets performance needs in a scalable way.
This configuration delivers stable transfer rates (~280 MB/s read, ~210 MB/s write) while keeping power consumption low (around 14 W idle and 26 W under load). So your back-ups remain fast without consuming too much power or generating too much noise.
High-speed connectivity
At the cutting edge of modern networking, the DS225+ offers a 2.5 GbE port and a 1 GbE port: a real plus over the previous model. This connectivity enables local transfers up to twice as fast, ideal for HD video, file synchronisation and network backup.
It also has two USB 3.2 Gen 1 (5 Gb/s) ports, on the front and rear, for connecting external drives or printers. Although the DS225+ does not offer an M.2 slot or PCIe port, it can accommodate the DX525 expansion module via USB-C, adding up to 5 bays as required.
